The BHI360 by Bosch Sensortec is a highly integrated, ultra-low power smart 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) designed for always-on motion sensing and edge intelligence. It combines a best-in-class inertial measurement unit, a 32-bit programmable microcontroller, and a dedicated ultra-low power processor with pre-installed sensor fusion algorithms in a single compact package.
With a footprint of just 2.5 × 3 mm, the BHI360 enables advanced motion tracking and context-aware applications while minimizing system power consumption and offloading processing from the host processor.
The BHI360 is more than a traditional IMU. It functions as a smart sensor hub, capable of processing inertial data locally using its embedded Fuser2 architecture. This reduces latency and power consumption while enabling real-time sensor fusion, orientation tracking, and gesture recognition.
As devices become more intelligent and power-constrained, processing at the sensor level is critical. The BHI360 enables edge-based sensor fusion and motion intelligence, helping developers build responsive, efficient, and highly integrated motion-aware systems without burdening the main application processor.
