MLCCs offer low ESR and superior thermal characteristics with an extensive choice of packaging

May 7, 2026

The MSAS series of capacitors from TAIYO YUDEN, supplied in a range of compact case options, benefits from advanced materials technology to provide high capacitance, helping designers to miniaturize product designs.

The MSAS series of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) from TAIYO YUDEN provides extended operating-temperature ranges and low ESR in consumer and mobile devices. Built on proprietary material and multilayering technologies developed in-house, the series covers a wide range of capacitance values and case sizes, giving designers flexibility across a broad spectrum of circuit requirements.

Three operating-temperature range options, extending up to 125°C, broaden the range of environments in which the series can be deployed. The smallest case size supports dense PCB population in space-constrained designs such as mobile devices and wearables, while larger case sizes and higher voltage ratings accommodate more demanding circuit requirements.

Features

  • Capacitance range: 0.2 pF to 470 µF
  • Case-size range: 0.25 x 0.125 mm to 4.5 x 3.2 mm
  • Rated-voltage range: 2.5 V to 2 kV
  • Operating-temperature range options: -55°C to 85°C, -55°C to 105°C, -55°C to 125°C

Applications

  • Mobile devices
  • Handheld gadgets
  • Consumer computers
  • Audio/video devices
  • Home appliances
  • Smart TVs
