Lumileds Horticultural Lighting LEDs

Horticulture LEDs provide high efficacy and brightness in various package formats

The Lumileds horticultural lighting portfolio includes a wide choice of broad-spectrum white LEDs and horticultural color LEDs. With the addition of the LUXEON SunPlus HPE, a deep red, high-power horticulture LED, Lumileds now makes it possible to address all horticulture lighting design requirements, and to provide light which maximizes crop yields and financial returns.

 

All Lumileds horticulture LEDs are specified in photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) measured in μmol/s, and efficacy in PPF/W, measured in μmol/J.

 

The LUXEON SunPlus Series of color LEDs is purpose-built to enable ease of system design for horticulture applications. These LEDs are binned and tested based on their PPF, and include options for single-driver systems, and multi-channel, color-tunable solutions.

 

The LUXEON SunPlus HPE Deep Red LED is a 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm domed, high-power package with a single 2 mm die. It produces a typical wavelength of 670 nm, with excellent performance across all parameters. The LED is particularly well complemented by the LUXEON 3030 HE Plus Horticulture and the LUXEON 5050 Horticulture LEDs.

 

The LUXEON SunPlus 20 Line has a 2 mm x 2 mm footprint and is available in far red, deep red, royal blue, lime, and cool white.

 

The LUXEON SunPlus 35 Line has a 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm footprint and is available in lime and purple. Purple LEDs are 2.5% blue, 12.5% blue, and 25% blue.

 

The LUXEON SunPlus 2835 Line has a 2.8 mm x 3.5 mm footprint and features a 120° viewing angle for uniform light distribution in greenhouse, vertical farming, and interweaving applications. These LEDs are available in far red, deep red, royal blue, lime, purple, and horticulture white.

 

The LUXEON SunPlus CoB Line products have a 115° viewing angle. These LEDs are the ideal solution for applications which require more directional light, and a high light output. The horticulture CoB LEDs are available in purple and rose colors.

 

LUXEON 3030 HE Plus Horticulture and LUXEON 5050 Horticulture LEDs are ideal solutions for applications which require a powerful and efficient source of broad-spectrum white light. They provide high performance in both light output and efficacy. Extremely robust, they offer characteristics attractive to growers, including:

  • Long operating life at high temperature
  • Tolerance of temperature cycling when powered
  • Long operating life in moist ambient conditions at high temperature
  • Tolerance of air-to-air thermal shock
  • High resistance to hydrogen sulfide. The LEDs comply with the JIS 60068-2-43 standard

LUXEON 3030 HE Plus Horticulture mid-power LEDs offer superior efficacy and brightness. The package is built for operation in harsh horticultural environments and offers a long lifetime. CCT values of the LUXEON 3030 HE Plus Horticulture LEDs range from 2,200 K to 6,500 K, with CRI values of 70, 80, and 90.

 

LUXEON 5050 Horticulture LEDs are supplied in a multi-die, robust package which has a 5 mm x 5 mm footprint and a small light-emitting surface. The LUXEON 5050 Horticulture LEDs provide excellent efficiency and brightness in CCT values ranging from 2,200 K to 6,500 K and in CRI values of 70, 80, and 90.
