Tyco Electronics is the world’s leading connector manufacturer and has been developing connectors for the solid-state lighting industry to meet the needs of the commercial, industrial and residential lighting markets.
Inverted Surface Mount (SMT) Thru Board Connector Series was developed to facilitate the growing need for a rapid power interconnection to aluminum-clad printed circuit boards for LED lighting applications, which include LED lighting controls, indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures and general LED illumination fixtures. The SMT process is a commonly accepted method to mount high brightness LED devices to aluminum-clad printed circuit boards. The inverted SMT thru board connector was designed to be surface mounted through a cutout inside the printed circuit board or through a notch on the edge of the printed circuit board.
Inverted SMT Thru Board Connectors are available in 2 through 6 position and high temperature thermoplastic connectors are available for vacuum pick-and-place onto printed circuit boards like other SMT components.
The inverted SMT thru board connector is RoHS compliant, has a 70V DC/70V AC voltage rating and is UL recognized under File Number E28476.
TE’s 1.5mm pitch AMP Mini CT connectors mate to the inverted SMT thru board connector from the underside of the printed circuit board and accept 24 AWG wire for 3A rating, 26 AWG wire for 2.5A rating and 28AWG wire for 1.5 rating
Applications for this product include LED lighting controls, indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures and general LED illumination fixtures.
