MINMAX has introduced the MJWI40 series, 40W isolated dc-dc converters designed for modern applications demanding higher power density in a compact package. The converters feature a power density of 89W/in3 within an encapsulated 1” x 1” footprint – allowing for space optimization in server power supplies and communication equipment.
Compared with the previous-generation 2” × 1” footprint, the MJWI40 series fits a compact 1” × 1” package, cutting the projected area by 50% while maintaining the same output power. Within this 1” × 1” footprint, MINMAX has scaled output power from 10W to 40W, providing a straightforward upgrade path: customers can boost system capability by simply replacing the dc-dc converter, minimizing PCB changes.
The MJWI40 series is housed in a shielded metal case with an insulated baseplate and features high efficiency of up to 93%, with an optional heatsink, facilitating heat dissipation in demanding environments.
The converters provide fully regulated single or dual output voltages. Remote on/off control and output voltage trim functionality comes included, as well as integrated protection mechanisms covering under-voltage lockout (UVLO), overload, over-temperature, and short-circuit conditions.
