Diodes Incorporated has introduced the DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7 TVS diode, which provides ESD protection to the high-speed I/O ports of advanced Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) featuring differential signal lines running at frequencies of 5GHz and higher. The DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7 is ideal for the protection of high-speed interfaces such as USB 3.1/3.2, Thunderbolt™ 3, PCI Express® 3.0/4.0, HDMI 2.0a and DisplayPort™ 1.4.
Because of their relatively high input-channel capacitance, traditional TVS devices can degrade high-speed signals as they travel between connectors at the boundary of the host system and the I/O ports of SoCs.
The DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7 offers superior performance: it has been developed using Diodes’ advanced in-house processes to achieve very low input-channel capacitance of 0.175pF, as well as low dynamic resistance, and low trigger, holding and clamping voltages. The device is housed in a state-of-the-art package which has very low capacitance.
The DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7 offers exceptional air and contact ESD protection of up to ±8kV, in accordance with the specifications of the IEC 61000-4-2 standard. It also provides the industry’s best combination of clamping voltage, breakdown voltage and reverse stand-off voltage. Peak-pulse power dissipation is 25W over an 8/20µs short-circuit waveform.
The DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7 is supplied in a chip-scale X2-DSN0603-2 package which has a 0.6mm x 0.3mm footprint and is only 0.3mm high.
