Features & Applications
The L78L18ACUTR is a three terminal positive voltage regulator with an output voltage of 18 V and an output current up to 100 mA, with internal current limiting and thermal shutdown features, available in surface mount SOT-89-3 package.

These devices are intended provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point regulation. When adequate heat sinking is provided these device can deliver over 0.5 A output current and these devices can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltage and currents.

When used as Zener diode/resistor combination replacement, these devices offer an effective output impedance improvement of typically two orders of magnitude, along with lower quiescent current and lower noise.
