The MP2761 from Monolithic Power Systems is a highly integrated buck-boost battery charger designed for 2-cell to 4-cell battery packs. Supporting a wide 4V to 22V input range, the device efficiently charges batteries whether the battery voltage is above or below the input voltage, simplifying power system design across a broad range of applications.

The MP2761 incorporates advanced charging functionality, including trickle charge, pre-charge, fast charge and constant-voltage charging modes. Integrated narrow-voltage DC (NVDC) power path management ensures continuous system operation while optimizing battery charging performance. The device also supports battery supplement functionality, helping maintain system stability during peak load conditions.

Designed for modern USB-powered systems, the MP2761 supports USB Type-C® and USB Power Delivery (PD) specifications. Its I2C/SMBus interface enables flexible configuration and real-time monitoring of charging parameters, power delivery settings and system status.

With integrated protection features, thermal management and programmable operating parameters, the MP2761 provides a reliable solution for portable electronics, battery-powered industrial equipment and USB PD power applications.
