Description of Change: This notification is to inform customers that Cypress will be standardizing its Full Box Quantity to a sellable quantity in the market where it will be able to round the orders in increment of this full box quantity. It may be recalled that Cypress had implemented Manufacturing Label and Packing Configuration Standardization via Product Information Notification PIN195102 in December 2019. As part of the Cypress integration into Infineon Shipping Standard, Cypress will be adjusting Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), Order Increment (OI) to align them with new Full Box Quantity for select parts shipped in trays and tubes.
Subject: Qualification of a Design Revision for 2-Mbit (256K x 8) Serial (SPI) F-RAM Products Description of Change: Cypress announces the qualification of a new design revision for select 2-Mbit (256K x 8) Serial (SPI) F-RAM products. The new design revision incorporates the advantages of Cypress' leading serial non-volatile random-access memory platform, ExcelonTM, to the current 2-Mbit SPI F-RAM products. Migration to the new die revision will result in customers benefitting from continuing product supply and long-term technical support on these products. This design change does not affect the device's guaranteed datasheet specifications or electrical performance. There is no change to existing marketing part numbers. Benefit of Change: This qualification has improved product availability and is consistent with Cypress' product roadmap of offering the latest F-RAM technology and technical support to customers. Approximate Implementation Date: Effective 90 days from the date of this notification or upon customer approval, whichever comes first, all shipments of Commercial, Industrial and Automotive non-PPAP part numbers in the attached file will be designed with new die revision or other approved die revision. Anticipated Impact: None anticipated. Products manufactured with the new design revision are completely compatible with existing product from form, fit, functional, parametric, and quality performance perspectives. Cypress also recommends that customers take this opportunity to review these changes against current application notes, system design considerations and customer environment conditions to assess impact (if any) to their application.
Addendum to PIN195102 - Manufacturing Label and Packing Configuration Standardization Description of Change: The purpose of this addendum is to correct the date from January 20, 2019 to January 20, 2020, in the "3rd paragraph in the 'Description of Change' section. This notification is to inform customers that Cypress will be standardizing its manufacturing labels and tray/tube packing configuration. It may be recalled that the Cypress entity consolidation (following the merger with Spansion Corp) was announced via Product Information Notification PIN174801 in November 2017. As the next phase of the entity consolidation process, Cypress will be adapting a new manufacturing label format for all products and revising shipping configurations for select product shipped in trays and tubes.
Datasheet Update for 2-Mbit (256K x 8) Serial (SPI) F-RAM Products Description of Change: Cypress announces the datasheet changes for the 2-Mbit (256K x 8) Serial (SPI) F-RAM. For the part FM25V20A-DGQ* with extended industrial temperature, the first three parameters related to VDD supply current do not apply.
Discontinuation of HOLD Pin Operation on FM25V20A Products This notification is to inform customers about a decision to remove the HOLD pin operation on Cypress FM25V20A products. The HOLD pin functionality will not be supported in the FM25V20A SPI F-RAM products going forward. The intent behind this change is to ensure easy re-use of IP across products to achieve accelerated design cycles and common test programs. There is no change to Silicon or manufacturing sites.
