Amphenol ICC Zhaga-Compatible Connectors

Amphenol ICC has introduced the latest in a series of Zhaga-compatible connector products aimed at interior or exterior applications for digitally or sensor-controlled luminaires.

The Amphenol FLM series of DALI interface connectors for indoor luminaires, which conforms to the Zhaga Book 20 standard, provides secure mating, easy unmating and versatile design options for various functions including:

  • Ambient light sensing
  • Presence detection
  • Air quality monitoring

The FLM series connectors allow users to connect modules to an LED driver and control system. The modules can be easily serviced in the field and replaced when necessary.

The FLM connectors are available in wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations. The pin contact connectors, or Luminaire Extension Module Receptacles (LEX-MR) as defined by Book 20, are available in right-angle or vertical PCB-mount configurations with surface-mount tails, or as wire termination housings for use with crimp contacts, or with integrated contacts with a poke-in wire termination.

The socket contact connectors, or Luminaire Extension Module Luminaire Plugs (LEX-LP), are available for use with wire crimp contacts, or with integrated contacts with a poke-in wire termination.

Amphenol’s portfolio of connectors for lighting applications also includes the FLS series of receptacles for systems designed for compliance with the Zhaga Book 18 standard format. The FLS receptacle features four contacts for power, DALI signals and digital I/O. It may be mounted on a luminaire.

The FLS mating base/extension module and dome together form the housing for a photocell or sensor module assembly.

The FLH series of wire-to-wire connectors, FLA dimming receptacles, and FLB series sensor bases and domes are also available from Future Electronics.

    • 7A maximum per circuit with 18 AWG wire
    • 5A maximum per circuit with 20 AWG wire
    • 3A maximum per circuit with 22 AWG wire
  • 250V AC/DC voltage rating
  • 20mΩ maximum contact resistance after environmental exposure
  • 500MΩ minimum insulation resistance
  • 1,500V AC dielectric withstanding voltage
  • Operating-temperature range: -40°C to 105°C
