Monolithic Power Systems MPQ6539-AEC1 Gate Driver IC
80V, Three-Phase, BLDC Motor Pre-Driver with HS and LS Inputs, AEC-Q100 Qualified
The MPQ6539-AEC1 from Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) is a gate driver IC designed for three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver applications. It drives three half-bridges with six N-channel power MOSFETs and supports voltages up to 80V.
The device uses a bootstrap capacitor (CBST) to generate the supply voltage for the high-side MOSFET driver. When the output remains high for extended periods, an internal charge pump maintains the high-side gate drive.
Key protection features include configurable over-current protection (OCP), adjustable deadtime (DT) control, under-voltage lockout (UVLO), and thermal shutdown. These features enhance system reliability in automotive and industrial designs.
Housed in a QFN-28 (4mm x 5mm) package with an exposed thermal pad and wettable flanks, the MPQ6539-AEC1 is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified, making it an ideal choice for automotive motor control systems.

The EVQ6539-V-00A evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MPQ6539-AEC1, a three-phase, brushless DC (BLDC) motor pre-driver. The MPQ6539-AEC1 is capable of driving 3 half-bridges consisting of 6 N-channel power MOSFETs up to 80V. The device uses a bootstrap (BST) capacitor (CBST) to generate a supply voltage for the high-side MOSFET (HS-FET) driver. If the output is held high for an extended period, an internal charge pump maintains the HS-FET. |
