Overview:

Tyco Electronics is the world’s leading connector manufacturer.  Tyco Electronics Amplimite family of subminiature D connectors is the industry’s most extensive and versatile. These subminiature D connectors have become the most popular type of input/output (I/O) connectors in use today.

Established and proven, they are rugged, easily used and have been widely adopted in standards for serial communications, telecommunications and local area networks (LANS).

Available in panel mount or free hanging configuration, Amplimite family offers interconnect solutions for wire-to-board, panel-to-panel and wire-to-panel applications. A wide choice of shell sizes, number of positions and contact sizes is also available.

HDP-20 Crimp Snap-In Contact Series represents the core of the Amplimite offer, providing a lower cost, commercial version of the military approved series. This low cost, high performance, precision-formed crimp contact connector has shell sizes that offer a wide selection of contact positions – 9, 15, 25, 37 and 50. HDP-20 series of connectors use size 20 contacts, which are based on .040 inches [1.02 cm] pin diameters with contact centerlines of .109 x .112 inches [2.77 x 2.85 cm]. This size is the most common variety. Crimp snap-in contacts also allows loading of only the number of contact being used.

1658537-2 is an Amplimite HDP-20 Crimp Snap-In Socket Contact 24-20 AWG with insulation support duplex plating in a size 20 contact.
