ON Semiconductor’s comprehensive range of integrated power modules for motor driving includes pin-compatible replacements for International Rectifier and Mitsubishi parts. Power modules from ON Semiconductor are available to drive brushless DC motors with power ratings up to several kilowatts.
An Intelligent Power Module is an integrated inverter power stage which is required to drive a three-phase electric motor such as a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor. It includes MOSFET drivers, six MOSFETs and control and protection functions.
IPMs are used in electric motors and as the inverter in systems such as solar power generators. The ON Semiconductor IPMs can drive up to 16A through a motor.
