The L78L08ABZ-AP is a three terminal positive voltage regulator with an output voltage of 8 V and an output current up to 100 mA, with internal current limiting and thermal shutdown features, available in through hole TO-92-3 package.

These devices provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point regulation. When adequate heat sinking is provided, they can deliver over 1 A output current.
