Features & Applications

The MCP1703 series of CMOS, low dropout voltage regulator with 250 mA maximum output. MCP1703 works with input voltage of up to 16 V and in combination with its low current consumption of 2 µA is an ideal solution for applications using multi-cell, 9 V alkaline or one- or two- and three- cell lithium-ion batteries. It is available in space efficient SOT23a and SOT89 packages or in a thermally capable 3-pin SOT223.

The MCP1703 is capable of delivering 250 mA with only 625 mV (typical) of input to output voltage differential (VOUT = 2.8 V). The output voltage tolerance of the MCP1703 is typically ±0.4% at +25°C and ±3% maximum over the operating junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Line regulation is ±0.1% typical at +25°C
