Vishay’s new IGBT offering competes with the top name suppliers in the industry.  The 0.5-A VO3150A combines the widest operating voltage with high ambient operating temperature ranges and low power consumption to enable better thermal management and more flexible design choices for motor drives, induction stove tops, power supplies, and many other high-voltage applications.

Vishay’s new 0.5-A VO3150A IGBT and MOSFET driver consists of an LED optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a power output stage that has an operating voltage range of 15 V to 32 V. The voltage and current supplied by the new driver makes it ideal for directly driving IGBTs with ratings up to 800 V and 20 A for the VO3150A. The industry-high operating voltage allows the device to drive larger modules that typically require a two-sided power supply, thus giving designers more choices in selecting power components.

With a high maximum ambient operating temperature of + 110 °C and low power consumption of 2.5 mA, the VO3150A simplify thermal management by allowing designers to place them in closer proximity to IGBTs and/or to use smaller heat sinks.
