TE Connectivity supports Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) as the infrastructure for Industrial IoT (IIoT) to remain ahead of today’s trends towards miniaturization of devices, increased efficiency of devices, and remote power feeding.

SPE provides a single open, scalable Ethernet-based network within an automation system. Instead of transmitting Ethernet over two pairs (for Fast Ethernet (100Mb/s)) or four pairs (for Gigabit Ethernet), Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) specifies Ethernet transmission over only one pair of copper wires.

This significantly reduces complexity, costs and enables smarter, lighter and smaller technologies.
