Industrial IoT: Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 - How did we get there?

Wi-Fi 6 is the Wi-Fi successor to Wi-Fi 5 with expected data rates 4 x those of 802.11 (ac) and decreased latency. Silicon providers are already releasing devices and module suppliers are working to accommodate this.

What is Wi-Fi 6?

Yes, it is faster, but it is about more than just speed.

Wi-Fi 6 is an enhanced standard that compatible devices such as routers and phones can use to be more efficient in their signal transfer method. Routers are being launched with new mesh options, while the newest phones support the upgraded 802.11ax (previously 802.11ac). And let us not forget next generation laptops, streaming devices and smart home devices housing the new technology as well.

In this free webinar, you will learn how we got to Wi-Fi 6, where we are at now, and where we are going.

Key Topics:

  • Where are we in this deployment?
  • What is the state of the Wi-Fi market at large with regards to IoT and connected devices
  • What are the considerations when deploying Wi-Fi based designs?
