The Infineon iMOTION™ IMC100 Motor Control IC family is a next-generation solution for the control of variable speed drives. It brings a comprehensive set of innovative motor control peripherals that help to achieve the shortest time to market for any motor system at the lowest system and development cost.

The iMOTION™ series integrates the necessary hardware and algorithm to perform control of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). The Infineon motor control IC uses a patented and field-proven Motion Control Engine (MCE) implementing Field Oriented Control (FOC) using single or leg shunt current feedback with space vector PWM and sinusoidal signals to achieve the highest energy efficiency. The iMOTION™ also features multiple protection features such as over and undervoltage, overcurrent rotor lock and more.

Simplified Configuration

Powerful tools like MCEWizard and MCEDesigner greatly reduce the implementation effort for a variable speed drive.

MCEWizard offers application flexibility, which helps to create the concrete motor configuration by guiding the developer through several self-explanatory questions.

MCEDesigner is a tool used to program the motor parameters and fine-tune the drive to best meet application requirements.

Additional application flexibility is provided through digital and analog IOs.
