Renesas ISL9122A Ultra-Low IQ Buck-Boost Regulator with Bypass

Highly-integrated, non-inverting regulator for the newest smart and IoT devices

The Renesas ISL9122A Ultra-Low IQ Buck-Boost Regulator is the all-in-one package, implementing a complete buck-boost switching regulator, with a PWM controller, internal switches, references, protection circuitry, and control inputs. The ISL9122A is a highly integrated non-inverting buck-boost switching regulator that accepts input voltages both above or below the regulated output voltage. The regulator provides 80% efficiency at 10µA load and has a peak efficiency of more than 97% with support for input voltages ranging from 1.8V to 5.5V.

The Renesas ISL9122A features an extremely low quiescent current consumption of 1300nA in Regulation mode, 120nA in Forced Bypass mode, and 8nA in Shutdown mode. Thanks to a robust PWM controller, the ISL9122A automatically switches between Buck and Boost modes as necessary, to maintain a steady output voltage with changing input voltages and dynamic external loads.
