Hirose FH72 Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) Connectors
Space-saving connector features robust single-action lock
The new Hirose FH72 series of Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) connectors is designed for quick, fail-safe installation in space-constrained industrial applications.
With a contact pitch of just 0.3mm and a height of 0.9mm, this compact connector from Hirose is suitable for small applications where space on the board is at a premium.
The unique one-action lock on the FH72 series allows an FPC to be locked into place simply by inserting it. This locking mechanism and the connector’s wide entry point make it possible for the FPC to be inserted with one hand or by automated machinery. This reduces both assembly time and the chance of mating failure that may be caused by movement involved in a two-step locking process.
Once in place, the high retention force achieved by the lock levers at either end of the connector ensure the tabbed FPC is held securely in the correct position. The correct placement of the FPC can be checked through small openings in the top of the connector.
The integral molding structure of the FH72 series leaves no gaps for solder wicking.
