US5782 – Medium Sensitivity Unipolar Hall Switch
The Melexis US5782 is a medium magnetic sensitivity unipolar Hall-effect switch designed in mixed signal CMOS technology. The device integrates a voltage regulator, Hall sensor with dynamic offset cancellation system, Schmitt trigger and an open-drain output driver, all in a single package.
The US5782 exhibits unipolar magnetic switching characteristics. Therefore, it operates only with one magnetic pole. Applying a south magnetic pole greater than Bop facing the branded side of the package switches the output ON (Low).
Removing the magnetic field (B->0) switches OFF( High) the output. The use of the opposite magnetic pole facing the branded side does not affect the output state. A magnetic hysteresis Bhyst keeps Bop and Brp separated by a minimal value. The hysteresis prevents output oscillation near the switching point.
The wide operating voltage from 3.5V to 24V, low current consumption and -40°C to 150°C operating temperature range make the US5782 suitable for automotive and solid state switching applications.
The US5782 is delivered in a 3-lead Thin Small Outline Transistor (TSOT) for surface mount process.
The US5782ESE is a TSOT Medium Sensitivity Unipolar Hall Switch rated for -40°C to 85°C operating temperature range that comes in 3000 piece tape.
