The Allegro MicroSystems ACS37035 current sensor IC offers a high-bandwidth solution for AC or DC current sensing, and boasts a 1 MHz bandwidth and an impressive 40 ns response time. This makes it ideal for high-frequency switching applications, serving as a superior alternative to bulky and less efficient current transformers. By integrating the sensing element and signal processing into a compact SOIC-16 wide-body package, the ACS37035 helps reduce both bill-of-materials costs and PCB space, enhancing overall design quality and efficiency. The ‘LA’ package version provides robust isolation with a 4242 VRMS rating for 60 seconds and a working voltage for reinforced isolation of 500 VRMS.
Allegro MicroSystems' factory programming process optimizes device accuracy by precisely calibrating the sensor after packaging. This, along with the close proximity of the magnetic field to the Hall transducer, ensures precise measurements and minimizes errors. The ACS37035 employs differential sensing using two Hall plates, effectively subtracting interfering common-mode magnetic fields for robust performance in noisy environments. Furthermore, the low internal resistance of the conductive path, typically less than 1 mΩ, contributes to minimal power loss and increased efficiency in customer applications.
The ACS37035 includes an integrated overcurrent fault detection feature, providing enhanced system protection. With its low noise characteristics of 4 mVrms at 1 MHz and a maximum quiescent voltage output offset of ±15 mV, the ACS37035 delivers precise and reliable current measurements.
