Renesas SLG47912, SLG47920 & SLG47921 Low-Power Compact FPGAs

Compact, low-power FPGAs with Flexible Configuration and Secure Bitstream Support

The Renesas SLG47912, SLG47920, and SLG47921 are compact, low-power FPGA devices designed for space-constrained digital systems requiring flexible logic integration and efficient power management. These highly versatile devices support configuration through one-time programmable (OTP) non-volatile memory or via an SPI interface using an external bitstream source, allowing designers to optimize boot architecture and system flexibility.

With dense configurable logic arrays, integrated memory resources, and support for LVDS signaling, the SLG4791x family enables a broad range of applications across consumer, industrial, and portable electronics. Advanced power control features, multiple configuration modes, and strong security capabilities make these devices well suited for secure, low-power digital designs.

All three devices feature dual I/O voltage domains (1.71 V to 3.465 V) with a 1.1 V core supply, integrated 50 MHz high-frequency oscillator, PLL support, and flexible clock management. Security features include CRC integrity checks and AES bitstream decryption. Two ultra-low-power idle modes support state retention for GPIOs and BRAM while maintaining consumption below 85 µA.

Evaluation Boards & Kits

Overview & Evaluation Boards & Kits

SLG4DVKGOCONF: Go Configure Development Board

The Go Configure™ Development Board is a universal development board for Renesas' ForgeFPGA products that supports all features of the Go Configure™ Software Hub. A set of compatible socket cards is available for a quick and easy start to the development process. This board is ideal for rapid prototyping, evaluation, and development of the Renesas FPGA devices. It is tightly integrated with the Go Configure Software Hub, which offers a graphical interface for design creation, simulation, and device programming.

SLG47921C-SKT: ForgeFPGA SLG47921C Socket Card Kit

The SLG47921C-SKT is a socket card kit for use with the SLG4DVKGOCONF Go Configure Development Board. The SLG47921C-SKT kit includes the ForgeFPGA™ Socket Card #5 (SLG7SC5), 20 samples of SLG47921C, and a Pmod™ LED adapter.

The ForgeFPGA Socket Card #5 is a development board designed for emulation and prototyping of ForgeFPGA integrated circuits. This socket card implements a connection between the pins of a ForgeFPGA and the Go Configure Development Board. This board can be used for design prototyping with different boot modes. The socket card supports Pmod standards and thus provides the ability to connect different Pmod adapters.
