The OP598A is a part of OP59 series plastic silicon phototransistor. It has a storage temperature ranging from -40°C to +100°C and its available in TO-18 package.

The OP598 consist of NPN silicon phototransistors molded in dark blue epoxy  epoxy packages. The wide receiving angle provides relatively even reception over a large area. These devices are 100 % production tested using infrared light for close correlation with with Optek's GaAs and GAAlAs emitters.
