No change in Manufacturing Location of the Finished Products.
General Product Description:SAE AS7928 CLASS 2 PART NUMBERSDescription of ChangesTE has removed all Class 2 MIL-SPEC references from product labels and literature for the products listed in this PCN( affected products ).Any affected products shipped on or after April 13th,2022 must not be used for applications that specifically require NAVAIR Class 2 qualified product until further notice.The affected products still meet the performance specifications of AS7928 and can continue to be used in commercial applications that do not require NAVAIR Class 2 qualified product.TE Class 1 products remain active on the NAVAIR Class 1 QPL and can continue being used for applications requiring NAVAIR Class 1 qualified product.TE AS7928 Class 2 products were removed from QPL-7928(Class 2) Supplemental Information Sheets for Qualified Products Lists(QPLs), effective April 13, 2022.Since Class 2 parts must be ordered by the manufacturer s standard part number, TE standard package labels indicated both the commercial(standard TE) part number and the applicable MIL-SPEC reference(s). Reason for Changes:New specification.This action required TE remove all references to Class 2 qualification from product labels in order to continue supplying the affected parts for commercial or(where applicable)Class 1 application.Government standard SAE AS7928,Sec6.2 lists items that should be on procurement documents.In line with the requirements and for all future orders TE will require the class of lug terminal or splice connector and applicable AS detail specification part number.Class 1 part numbers must be ordered by the AS detail specification part number and Class 1 designation must appear in the text/note field.ie: Order M7928/1-13 part number, with a note stating AS7928 Class 1. Once TE is re-qualified to supply Class 2 parts,Class 2 part numbers must be ordered by the TE part number.Also for Class 2 orders,the AS detail specification part number and Class 2 designator must appear in the text/note field as a reference.ie: Order 51863-5 part number,along with a note stating M7928/1-13 Class 2First Date To Ship (Changed Parts Only): 24-JUN-2022
