Features & Applications
The Darlington configuration was invented by Bell Laboratories engineerSidney Darlington in 1953. Darlington connected transistors are well suited for driving lamps, relays, or printer hammers in a variety of industrial and consumer applications.
A Darlington Array is a semiconductor device which combines two or more bipolar transistors in a single device so that the current amplified by the first is amplified further by the second. This gives a high current gain, and takes less space than having multiple discrete transistors in the same configuration.
