General Product Description:DEUTSCH DT Plug & Receptacle Process ChangeDescription of ChangesThe Industrial and Commercial Transportation business unit of TE Connectivity is making a change to the molding process from using pre-colored resin to color at the press resin. This change is applicable to all North American manufacturing locations. The affected part numbers are listed below. These PNs are TE proprietary designs, therefore considered catalog/general market product. PPAP and/or sample requests must be submitted within 14 days of PCN submission via ict-ppap-request@te.com or ePPAP system. Submission will not occur without request. If PPAP requested, disposition response is required within 14 days of submit date or it will be considered approved. Product drawings are not affected.Reason for Changes:Dear Customer, we hereby inform you of this change. This process allows flexibility and mitigates exposure to material shortages. The natural resin is the same as the pre-colored base resin and V-0 rating. There is no appearance change to parts manufactured with color at the press. IMPORTANT: The current and previous revisions of these parts can be used interchangeably in the field. The change is being phased gradually and previous revision can remain stocked until use. Description of Changes:TE-ICT is releasing new capacity tools and making slight form changes to DT 4,6,8,12-Way plug and receptacle housing part numbers, listed below. Changes include: Plug front seals will use seal retention version, logo and part number text, latch ends, and rounded edges. See pictures below and attached presentation for details, 4 and 12-way shown as an example. Also, as part of this initiative, TE-ICT is adding a second manufacturing location in China. CN will be added for those PNs manufactured in China to indicate the country of origin. These PNs are TE proprietary designs, therefore considered catalog/general market product. PPAP and/or sample requests must be submitted via ict-ppap-request@te.com or ePPAP system. PPAPs will be completed by part family and will be available upon request only. All PPAP requests must be received within 14 days of receipt of this notification. Product drawings are affected and will be updated as the changes are phased in. Reason for Changes: Product Improvement. Dear Customer, we hereby inform you of this change. TE-ICT will be adding new housing molds to our production capacity in order to meet demand needs and changing features to comply with DT 2 and 3-way appearance and manufacturability requirements. While there is an impact to the part form, the fit and function are not impacted. This change will give manufacturing the option to use the existing molds or the new molds. The second manufacturing location is being added to supply the APAC region. IMPORTANT: The current and previous revisions of these parts can be used interchangeably in the field. The change(s) are being phased in gradually and previous revision can remain stocked until use. Shipments of both configurations may be mixed.
