Change of blister-tape material for PTC SMD in case size 1210 The blister-tape material for EPCOS PTC SMD thermistors in case size 1210 is being changed from PVC (polyvinylchlorid, transparent color) to PS (polystyrol, black color) because the supplier can no longer supply the previous PVC material. This change will standardize the entire blister portfolio in production to black PS-based blisters. The tape size (8 mm) and the roll size (180 mm) remain unchanged. All cavity and sprocket hole patterns are the same for both tapes. The packaging will not change. The new PS material is more environmentally friendly and provides good ESD protection by using conductive PS over non-conductive PVC material.
