How UVC LED Disinfection Eliminates the Threat of COVID-19 on Surfaces in 30 Seconds

UVC disinfection has long been a key method of sterilization and reducing bacteria in hospitals, offices, factories, airplanes and more. Studies have shown it can in fact be used against coronaviruses, which has prompted talks about how it eliminates the threat of COVID-19. Thankfully, results from a successful industry-academic joint research between Seoul Viosys and the research group of top-ranked Korea University prove the world’s first 99.9% sterilization of COVID-19 in 30 seconds.

How does UVC LED Disinfection work?

UVC LED is a shorter, more energetic wavelength of light, which has been fundamental to sterilization for some time. The strong radiation completely changes the genetic structure of coronaviruses and prevents the viral particles from mutating.
