Current sense transformers are used wherever control, protection or load-detection functions are required. Typical applications are compact DC/DC with mid-rang outputs.

This EPCOS EE5 series is a comparable solution for existing designs based on an EE5 core. Typical applications include switching power supplies, feedback control, overload sensing and load drop/shut down detection.

B82801B184A30 is a surface mount current sense transformer with 180 uH inductance, and 1:30 turns ratio. The DC resistance of the primary winding is 0.8 milli-Ohm at a rated current of 20 Amps, and the test voltage is 500 Volts AC.

Note: B82801B184A3 could be called out as B82801B0184A030 because EPCOS changed their online ordering code to 15 digits. Both part numbers are correct and are ROHS compliant.
